Here’s the order from L to R……John, Janet, Matthew, Jim and Bill.
Janet was raised in San Francisco along with her 5 brothers, William (#22), George (#23), John (#24), James (#25) and Matthew (#27). As a young woman she spent summers in Larkspur Canyon in a house on the milk route of her future husband, Frank Nelson, who was raised on a nearby dairy farm.
They met again on the Larkspur tennis courts, fell in love, married, and continued to enjoy tennis throughout their lives. Janet took first place in the Grandmothers’ Tennis Tournament in Golden Gate Park in 1965. Janet and Frank celebrated 57 years of marriage and raised their family in Corte Madera where Frank was the Police and Fire Chief.
They traveled extensively in their camper, visiting friends and family around the country, and loved spending winters in the warm deserts of Southern California.
Janet and Frank had four children: Diane (Jack) Forster, Frank (Carol) Nelson Jr., Nancy (Howard) Altman, and Jim Nelson."
